Keys with Colour

Never fumble around looking for the right key again! I saw this neat idea on Pinterest a long time and just had to try it out. I can't tell you how helpful it is when you're in a rush. Now, when I'm looking for my house key, all I need to do is look for the bright ruby red key with glitter. I used bright pinks, reds, and corals on my set...and of course lots of glitter and sparkles. I would recommend using at least two coats of polish for an opaque look.

Curling Wand Magic

I recently had my hair done at a salon for my sister-in-law's wedding. Surprise surprise, I asked for big, loose, luxurious curls. I noticed that the hair dresser was using a curling wand, which I've had my eye on for a while, but never had the chance to try. I really liked the end result, but more importantly, it sure looked a lot easier than the hell I go through trying to curl my hair with a flat iron (flat irons and I don't get along unless I'm straightening my hair). All you need to do is take a strand of your hair, wrap it around the wand for 3-5 seconds and you have a perfect curl! If you're looking for a tight curl you'll want to use a thin wand, but I prefer the thicker wand for loose curls. Since I picked mine up (from YPT) I've used it every day. It's so quick to use; in the morning I curl most of my hair within 5 minutes. I love me some curling wand!

Addicted to the Glaze

Put on your sunglasses for this one! I can't tell you how many compliments I get when I wear Flip Flop Fantasy by China Glaze. I am completely and utterly obsessed with this colour! It's so fun and flirty. It's a super bright coral pink shade, and I must say (coming from someohne who just got their very first airbrush spray tan) it looks extra awesome on tanned skin. This polish dries to a matte finish, but just slap some top coat on there and you're good to go.

How to Achieve Big, Bold, Beautiful Lashes

Even though I have dark brown hair, I was cursed with having extremely light eyelashes. This is why mascara is my best friend and the one make-up product I could never live without. I love thick voluminous lashes. My 2 favourite mascaras are Bourjois Volume Glamour Max and L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.
Bourjois Volume Glamour Max ($20 Shoppers Drugmart)
I've only been using Bourjois Volume Glamour Max for about a week now, but I can already tell that it will definitely become a staple in my make-up collection. This mascara is perfect for anyone who wants their lashes lengthened and some added dramatic volume. The staying power is pretty decent too.
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (12.99 Shoppers Drugmart)
For a cheaper alternative that will provide a similar full look, give L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara a shot. This has been my go-to mascara for the last 5 years. After applying a few layers this get's super thick...in a good way!

Want to Smell Like Kim K?

I saw Kim Kardashian's signature scent 'Kim Kardashian' on the sale's rack at Pharma Plus the other day and decided to give it a sniff. To my surprise it was actually very pleasant and not overpowering at all. To be honest I was expecting a very sweet, sexy, sugary smell, so I was surprised when it turned out to be a pretty white floral scent. I'm not usually big on floral scents, but this one was an instant thumbs up for me. I love it because it's so light and summery. If you're a fan of perfumes by Coach and Marc Jacobs, you'll likely enjoy this scent as well. The best part is that the perfume is totally affordable. You can't beat the price at $10 for a 30ml bottle, which I just had to pick up! I've yet to smell Kim's newest fragrance 'Gold', but I'll probably wait until it shows up on the sale's rack :)

One of My Favourite Hair Products

We all have those lazy days when we just can't get out of bed in the morning to wash our hair. That's why I absolutely love Batiste Dry Shampoo. With just a few sprays, it takes greasy looking hair and transforms it into voluminous freshly-washed looking locks. Oh ya, they also smell fantastic! I mainly just spray it on my roots, rub it in with my fingers, give it a quick brush and then, voila, fresh hair. The two I usually use are Blush and Tropical. I haven't had the chance to try out the others, but will soon. Just a warning, when the product hits your hair it will turn grey, but once you work it in with your fingers it will disappear and you're good to go.

A Simple Guide to the Perfect Fishtail Braid

I used to look at fishtail braids and assume they were much too complex to figure out. I had pretty much given up on even attempting to try one on my hair. Don't give up! They're super duper easy. It's a little bit more difficult if you've got a ton of layers like I do, just because little strands stick out everywhere.  Here's a guide to help you out.
There are also a ton of online video tutorials out there to help you out. I've recently subscribed to the Luxy Hair Channel on Youtube, which is pretty great. It's two sisters from Toronto who provide lots of different hairstyle viedo tutorials. Here's their take on the Fishtail Braid.

Twill Skinny's for $18.80

Have you picked up your coloured denim yet? If not, Forever 21 has these awesome twill pants for under $20! How can you go wrong there?

If you're not a colour junky when it comes to pants, who cares, give 'em a try. I normally wear either black leggings or jeans most days, so coloured denim is by no means a staple in my wardrobe. I couldn't resist buying a couple pairs in Mint and Amber. They're just so fun.
